Equipment
Indoor Satellite Equipment
Indoor equipment consists of an iDirect 3100 netmodem that acts just like a cable modem. Plug up your coax cable, ethernet cable and attach to your router to connect easily to your LAN. From the netmodem an IP address is provided to the router which will then handle the distribution of IPs across the network.
The iDirect modem is capable of providing 18Mbps download speeds and upload speeds up to 4.2Mbps. Depending on your service plan you can see speeds similar to cable and DSL.
Outdoor Satellite Equipment
The outdoor equipment consists of a satellite Internet dish anywhere from .98 to 1.2 meters in diameter. The larger the dish the greater the signal strength during storms as well as greater speeds supported due to larger bucs associated with the larger dishes. In satellite Internet bigger is better.
